Pak Elections

Introduction

Voters, general public, politicians, election management bodies, democratic institutions and many more need election data of past elections for varying reasons. Quick access to data of all previous elections is somehow trivial for the stakeholders and sometimes near to impossible for people having little computer knowledge and searching skills.

The idea of developing Pak Elections app is to make the access to data of all previous elections available to all the stakeholders with minimum possible effort. The core idea behind the entire architecture of this app was “Simplicity”. The app has so simple interface that it can be operated by any smart phone user.

What information is provided by the app?

The app provides maximum details of ongoing as well as all past general elections in Pakistan including data about constituencies, polling stations, and contesting candidates. Data is presented to the user in visually simple format and data searching has been made so easy that the required data is made available with few clicks/taps.

Things to do

The app is complete in terms of development but the backend database of all previous elections need to be established. The establishment of blackened database of general elections 2008, 2013, 2018, FATA elections 2019 can be established be transferring data available in IT wing. Data of other previous elections can either be entered through data entry operators or other means can be explored.

Photos of contesting candidates and polling station will be uploaded by concerned DEC staff in the districts. The app is tailored to give write access to DECs and their staff to update the photos using their smart phones.

The app can only be published to general public after completing the above two tasks.
